Chris Wang

Chris Wangborn in St. Pölten (Austria), received his stage dance training (B.A.) at the Music and Arts Private University of the City of Vienna. He began his professional career at the Graz Operawhere he danced as a guest soloist and dancer in dance productions and as a member of the Graz Opera Ballet ensemble between 2010 and 2018 under ballet directors Darrel Toulon and Jörg Weinöhl. He has worked as a freelancer with numerous renowned international and Austrian choreographers (including Jérôme Bel, Natalia Horecna, Nikolaus Adler and Helge Letonja). Since 2014, he has been working more intensively on dance education as integrative and inclusive work - with the social aspect of dance. At the Anton Bruckner Private University Linz where he studied dance pedagogy (M.A.). With danceability austria, Moving Interaction and within the framework of Dance the Tolerance of Caritas, he has been working with dance in a social context since 2009. Chris Wang sees dance education as an intersection between art, pedagogy and research. He is a PhD candidate at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and in the MAS Dance Science program at the University of Bern. Since March 2021, Chris Wang has been at the Mozarteum University Salzburg as a Senior Lecturer and teaches dance at the Department of Elementary Music and Dance Pedagogy, Orff Institute.
