Focus: Culture and the Mind
On January 15, 2026, the second national call for proposals from ARTS for HEALTH AUSTRIA will open. The total funding amount is 24,000 euros. In a two-stage process, 3 to 6 projects will be selected from the submissions for implementation.
This grant supports artistic or cultural projects that aim to improve the health and well-being of individuals or communities through interdisciplinary collaboration with the health, social, or education sectors.
This year's call for proposals focuses on projects aimed at promoting mental health.
What kind of projects are supported?
This grant supports artistic or cultural projects aimed at improving the health and well-being of individuals or communities through interdisciplinary collaboration with the health, social services, or education sectors.
Projects may include:
- participatory art programs for people with mental health conditions
- Projects that focus on the prevention mental illness focus
- Art in healthcare or social settings, including projects that improve the healthcare environment and promote the well-being of staff and patients
- Projects in the health or social services sector: These may include performances, installations, and exhibitions that promote general well-being and highlight health-related topics
- Artist residencies in healthcare or social services
- Practice-oriented, artistic research into the impact of art and culture on mental health.

How do I apply?
Two steps are required to apply. You should (1) fill in the application form and (2) send a CV and any additional material (photos, portfolio, links) by e-mail.

The jury will review the applications and select an interdisciplinary group of artists to move on to the next phase. All applicants will be notified of the decision on March 1, 2026.
