A training module from ARTS for HEALTH AUSTRIA as the Austrian partner of the CultureAndHealth Platform.
Artists are increasingly found at bedside in hospitals and care facilities around the world, providing public health programs and activities such as social prescribing. The demand for specially trained artists who can provide high-quality, safe and effective services in healthcare facilities is growing rapidly. In the United States, a national team of experts has now published a series of documents to inform this growing artistic practice area.
Patricia Lambert is a professor at the School of Planning, Public Policy and Management at the University of Oregon (USA). She is the Austrian Fulbright Specialist for Music, Performing Arts and Visual Arts for Fall 2025.

In this lecture, Prof. Dr. Patricia Lambert, will present resources from the American organisation National Organization for Arts in Health (NOAH) that support the development of artists to advance professional practice in arts in health. These resources can be adapted and adopted for other countries and healthcare contexts. The presentation will be in English, but the Q&A session afterwards will be held in either English or German.

The trainings of the CultureAndHealth Platform are aimed at a broad audience: artists, practitioners and stakeholders from the fields of culture, health and care.

Participation is free of charge. Language: English.

The more art and culture we engage with (both actively and receptively), the more at ease, more balanced, more in tune with ourselves and the world.
