This event has ended

A joint event by ARTS for HEALTH AUSTRIA (AfHA), the Federal Ministry of Housing, Arts, Culture, Media and Sport (BMWKMS) and Gesundheit Österreich GmbH (GÖG ) to mark the presentation of the new EU report "Culture and Health: Time to Act".

The report "Culture and Health: Time to Act" is the first EU policy document that systematically brings together culture and health-related measures. It was developed by the Culture and Health Group with experts from all EU Member States between February 2024 and June 2025. And it concludes that it is time to recognize cultural engagement as health-promoting behaviour and integrate it into the healthcare system.

Time to Act / Zeit zum Handeln: The key findings of the report, including recommendations for cross-sector collaboration, will be presented at the event. In addition, international examples of good practice - including social prescribing and arts on prescription - will provide an insight into current developments. In addition to contributions from experts, discussions and artistic interventions, there will be a focus on the mental health of young people.

The event also marks the 5th anniversary of ARTS for HEALTH AUSTRIA and kicks off the call for project submissions for the 2026 National Call of the Creative Europe project CultureAndHealth Platform. Artists who received funding through the 2025 National Callwill also present their work on this day.
