We are proud and delighted to share with you the first article about ARTS for HEALTH AUSTRIA in an Austrian daily newspaper, the Wiener Zeitung!
The goals of our association are presented, including the recognition of art as a health measure in the public health system.
The article by Verena Franke, journalist and ballet dancer, contrasts the situation in the UK, where arts activities can be prescribed by doctors as part of 'social perscribing', with that in Austria, where the topic has only recently been publicly discussed and developed further - the official launch took place in December 2019 with the 'Arts for Health' workshop organized by the Federal Ministry of Arts and Culture.
Since then, we have continued to work on bringing art ever closer to health, and health ever closer to art!
We are really proud to share with you today, the first article in an Austrian newspaper, Wiener Zeitung, featuring ARTS for HEALTH AUSTRIA!
It introduces the aims of this association, among others, the recognition of arts as a health intervention in the public health system.
The article by Verena Franke, a ballet dancer and journalist, is juxtaposing the situation in the UK where the arts are part of the social prescription and the situation in Austria where there has only recently been more discussion and development on the topic.
In the meantime, we continue working to bring art, closer and closer to health and health, closer and closer to art!
