Virtual Dance Class
Åsa N. Åström Stockholm Ballet Academies

A forum of the Dance & Creative Wellness Foundation and Arts for Health Austria
in cooperation with the Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, the Civil Service and Sport, and MQ Vienna

on Friday December 11, 2020 online from the MQ Vienna.

The overwhelming evidence for the health benefits of the arts, which was also documented in the 2019 World Health Organization (WHO) report, means that some European countries have already adopted the "arts on prescription" model and integrated it into their existing healthcare structures. In Austria, the international dialog on this topic was opened in December 2019 as part of the "Arts for Health" workshop organized by the Department for European and International Cultural Policy at the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, Civil Service and Sport. The challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic and the associated physical, mental and social health problems have made this topic even more relevant and explosive.

With the Forum "Dance - New Moves in Health Care" will continue the discussion on this topic. It offers an overview of various approaches and dance-based programs that have already been implemented in Europe and the USA. One focus will be on the latest developments in the field of e-health and "virtual" applications of dance-based interventions in the health context. The Arts for Health Austria association, in which artists from all disciplines are invited to participate, will also be presented.

The forum will be held in English.

We hope to be able to welcome you to the event online.
