Renate Kreil
Renate Kreil is a qualified business journalist. She has worked in marketing for ORF (Austrian Broadcasting Corporation) and EMI Austria, as head of PR and in tour management for the agency/distributor Hoanzl and as a TV producer for the private broadcaster Moskovia3 in Austria and Moscow. For many years, she was also involved in children's and youth culture for Szene Bunte Wähne and Dschungel Wien.
Renate Kreil has been working as a freelance consultant for ACOnet, the Austrian high-performance data network for science, research, education and culture, since 2011. Since 2020 with an internal freelance contract. Her main tasks: Attracting art and cultural institutions to participate in ACOnet and supporting them in the further development of their network infrastructure. She organizes the so-called KUKIT regulars' tables (art, culture and IT), a platform for knowledge transfer and exchange of experience between IT specialists in art
and cultural institutions. As a curator and producer, she has realized the performance series net:art | near in the distance 1 - 3 (interactive multi-site performances in real time on an international level).
In 2018, she took over the project management of the net:art coordination center, an international coordination point for performing arts over advanced networks. Its website www.netart.cc has been online since April 2019 and is about to undergo a comprehensive content and visual relaunch in line with the needs of net-based art production in Austria.
Renate Kreil is a member of the program committee of the international Network Performing Arts over advanced networks Meetings (npapws.org) and is regularly invited to give international lectures. Her long-term goal is to establish arts & culture as a focus topic on the agendas of national and international science networks (NRENs) and to make their innovations available to artists.
